Scytl improves electoral processes, citizen participation and corporate governance which are the pillars of any democratic organization.

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales - US, the business development specialist is responsible for successfully selling the Scytl value proposition to qualified inbound leads and self-sourced prospects, primarily over the phone with a focus on driving business for a new private sector product.

This is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in a sales role that involves researching and prospecting of targets in various market segments. To be successful in the role, the business development specialist must be adept at building relationships through a combination of communication platforms with external clients and internal departments, especially Sales. They must be comfortable facilitating new communication processes through a variety of methods such as phone calls, emails, mailings, seminars and other venues organized by Marketing.  


  • Generate and qualify leads through calling, online prospecting and marketing campaign collaboration
  • Manage qualified inbound leads by tracking and following up on them, maintain up to date prospecting funnel
  • Become an expert in inbound marketing
  • Serve as a brand enthusiast for Scytl’s suite of products and solutions
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demos via the phone and internet
  • Close new sales and meet monthly sales goals in accordance with development plan
  • Produce activity reports by documenting all activity into Salesforce and properly communicating data to management
  • Attend tradeshows and conferences, as needed
  • Work with affiliated sales members, such as Account Executives, to cross-generate
  • Makes suggestions in regards to improving sales including advertising and lead generation strategies
  • Participates in client interactions to ensure cross-training, customer satisfaction and management involvement regularly
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and technology departments to execute sales strategy as the firm introduces enhancements to existing solutions and/or releases new products

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in telecommunications, business, marketing or related discipline, such as political science


  • At least 1 year of telesales/outbound calling experience in B2B with a proven track record of over-quota achievement, as proven in the interview process
  • Experience within a sales team that prduces and exceeds their goals consistently
  • Experience using a CRM platform such as Salesforce is a must
  • Experience selling a technically-oriented product to small and medium-sized businesses Experience in a start-up environment would be a big plus
  • Experience with SaaS model sales, with an understanding of solution-oriented selling, a plus
  • Experience working in a political election cycle, a plus


  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and the ability to work in a fast-paced and self-driven environment
  • Ability to learn complex, internal, software products that involve cutting edge technology
  • Ability to leverage relationships into new sales opportunities for the company while applying knowledge of business development concepts
  • Ability to advance the vision of the department
  • Ability to ask quality primary, secondary, and tertiary qualifying questions and have intent listening skills
  • Familiarity with dialing platforms and other prospecting tools
  • Proficient  with LinkedIn and other social media sales tools
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and provide value with every client interaction
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interface with clients, prospects, custodians and colleagues
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word; Google Apps
  • Knowledge election management and process would be a big advantage
